The 1st Annual Dr. Michael D. Ammazzalorso Memorial Pancreatic Cancer Symposium was held on November 3rd at the Winthrop Research and Academic Conference Center. A reception was held after the symposium paying tribute to Winthrop’s beloved former Chief Medical Officer.

The Fourth Annual Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Day was held on November 5, 2016 in the Dr. Martin Spatz Conference Center. This complimentary educational program was sponsored by Abbvie and Celgene and featured an impressive lineup of speakers that included Surgical Oncologist, Dr. Megan Winner, Medical Oncologist, Dr. Prashanti Atluri, Genetic Counselor, Melanie McDermet, and Oncology Dietitian, Gina Deluca, along with other special guest speakers like the Lustgarten Foundation, Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, and survivors.

Ammazzalorso Memorial Pancreatic Cancer Symposium on Thursday November 3rd at the Winthrop Research and Academic Conference Center – led by John Allendorf, MD and Alexander Hindenburg, MD.  We hope you take part in this exciting symposium featuring a nationally renowned group of experts in the field of Oncology and also paying tribute to Dr. Michael D. Ammazzalorso – Winthrop’s beloved former Chief Medical Officer.

Dr. John Allendorf and his team have been recognized by PanCAN, a national organization dedicated to creating hope for patients with pancreatic cancer through research, patient support, community outreach, and government advocacy.

Dr. John Allendorf served as Honorary Co-Chair of PurpleStride NYC, held on April 9, 2016 at Prospect Park in Brooklyn.
