The 1st Annual Dr. Michael D. Ammazzalorso Memorial Pancreatic Cancer Symposium was held on November 3rd at the Winthrop Research and Academic Conference Center. A reception was held after the symposium paying tribute to Winthrop’s beloved former Chief Medical Officer.
Winthrop-University Hospital Hosts Fourth Annual Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Day
The Fourth Annual Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Day was held on November 5, 2016 in the Dr. Martin Spatz Conference Center. This complimentary educational program was sponsored by Abbvie and Celgene and featured an impressive lineup of speakers that included Surgical Oncologist, Dr. Megan Winner, Medical Oncologist, Dr. Prashanti Atluri, Genetic Counselor, Melanie McDermet, and Oncology Dietitian, Gina Deluca, along with other special guest speakers like the Lustgarten Foundation, Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, and survivors.

Among their impressive line up of speakers included Chief of Surgical Oncology, Dr. John D Allendorf, and Attending Oncologist, Dr. Alexander Hindenburg, along with other special guest speakers like Senator Kemp Hannon, Survivors, the Lustgarten Foundation, and the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.
